After a few weeks of setting up, finding the right plugin’s and themes I can now introduce Chooseado.

Focused around creating a comprehensive directory of every possible productivity app, Chooseado allows users to contribute, explore, comment, share and discover applications.

Now Chooseado has launched it’s time to start working on developing the site and adding more functionality.

Disable Spotify Posting To Facebook

For some the Spotify auto-posting to Facebook feature is great for sharing what you’re listening to and what your friends are listening to.

However if you want to keep the functionality of Facebook connect but remove the auto-posting you simply need to go in Spotify to ‘Edit > Preferences…’ and untick the following option.

This way you can still connect with friends within Spotify, but also keep your profile clear of public updates.

Why I Prefer Kindle Over Books

For me personally a ebook reader / Kindle helps greatly reduce the number of books I need to carry with me. I study interactive production and cycle to the college I’m at, and a Kindle helps me cut a large number of books on media and computing like this:

Into an easy to transport and handy tool like this:

Otherwise I do see a valid argument for buying actual books in any other case such as novels, stories and any other book and I still do. It’s just more viable for me to also use a kindle in some cases.

Delicious Appsandoranges

I was pointed towards Appsandoranges by a friend of mine, and up until this point I hadn’t heard of it. Appsandoranges is currently invite only and the premise is a people powered ‘App Recommendation Engine’. They describe it as Q&A, question and apps where a person posts a question asking for the best ‘to do’ apps on Windows for example. Then the community can chime in their suggestions by adding them or up-voting already included apps to create a list based on user reviews and recommendations.

Since I have started using Appsandoranges I have found it to be a fountain of web apps I’ve never seen before and it’s refreshing to be trying out some new and alternative services and apps. It is a review site done well, very well. Trust me if you’re looking for something, from project management to password managers, across Windows, Mac, iOS or Android then give Appsandoranges a try. If you don’t have an account you can still browse the lists but you won’t be able to vote, add or post reviews.

I have a few invites available, if you want to give it a try leave a comment below with your Twitter username so I can contact you.
